That's right...youheard it here first. The Hershey Blaze Track Club will be hosting its first ever meet...a XC meet!!! This meet will be open to all youth ages 6-14 on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Founder's Park in Hershey. Kids are encouraged to shar with their friends and classmates. All of those whowant to run with us are welcome.
We will also be in need of volunteers for the meet. Please talk with Jennifer Paynter about how you can help with our first major event at [email protected] Click here to download the meet flier. Click here for online registration. Sending out a reminder that the Healthy Kids Running Series for this fall are about to start. If you plan to run your child in those races, please download the information and get them regisitered. We don't want you to miss out on these opportunities to run this fall.
Click here for information on a race in your area. On Day 4 of the AAU National Junior Olympics in Iowa Will Rivers represented the Hershey Blaze TC in the boys 13 year old javelin. He finished 6th overall out of a huge field of 46 throwers with a throw of 116'05" Great work Will!! The AAU event is still going on until this Saturday and you can follow the results on this link http://image2.aausports.org/sports/athletics/results/2014/jogames/index.htm The results for the Keystone games have been posted. Great work by all of the Blaze athletes whom participated. You did a marvelous job and represented HBTC well!! To see the results click here. The results for the USATF Region 2 Championships have been posted on the national website and all of our Hershey Blaze Athletes did an outstanding job posting some great performances- we are so proud of you! Congratulations to Ericka Jackson(9-10 girls) and Jaren Paynter(11-12 boys) who both qualified in the javelin and advanced on to the National USATF Junior Olympic Meet in Houston, TX!! Ericka placed 2nd with a throw of 65'2" and Jaren place 3rd with a throw of 107'2". These marks place both athletes among the top 20 performers in their respective age groups in the country. #GoBlaze!!!

Registration is now open for the 2014 Keystone Games held back this year at Bishop McDevitt! This meet is open to all Blaze athletes as well as an added bonus. Parents and other adults can also register!! We hope that the Blaze will be heavily represented as this will be the last major meet locally for our club for the summer.
